A global company who would like to set up operation base in greater China area had better set up joint venture with Taiwan Company first and then together goes to Mainland China to set up MAILAND CHINA operation base. (2)Taiwan has already signed ECFA (Economic Cooperation FrameworkAgreement) with Mainland China. A lots of goods exported to MAILAND CHINA from Taiwan are levied low rate customs tax than imported from other area.
The Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA) is a preferential trade agreement between the governments of the People’s Republic of China (mainland China) and the Republic of China (Taiwan) that aims to reduce tariffs and commercial barriers between the two sides. The pact, signed on June 29, 2010, in Chongqing,[1][2] was seen as the most significant agreement since the two sides split after the Chinese Civil War in 1949.[3] It will boost the current US$110 billion bilateral trade between both sides.
(3)The operation base in Mainland China can buy in bulky components or non-critical components from domestic supplier, and import critical components from Taiwan. Then assembly or produce them to be the finished products. Some of finished products can be sold in MAILAND CHINA domestic market. The other can be exported to non-china area market.
(4)As for penetrating MAILAND CHINA domestic market, it can be executed by MAILAND CHINA operation base. Do remember Taiwan has about 2 million persons who have been active in MAILAND CHINA now. Some of them started their business from 1990 to now. They are quite familiar with how to manage MAILAND CHINA operation base and how to penetrate MAILAND CHINA domestic market.
